Casey and Jac bring Ellia to the couch and try their best to comfort her but honestly it doesn't seem like much can be done considering her current state. We see more clearly that her chest and wrists are covered in symbols and they sure as hell look like they hurt.
Ellia tells them she saw a bright light and heard chanting, she tried to sit up but couldn't because her entire body hurt. That's when she sees her wrists and the panic escalates. While Casey says they look like bad burns, Jac's quick to point out they're far worse, they're brands. Casey immediately runs to the clue board, rips off a photo and returns to the sofa. The brands on Ellia are the same as the pendant Emily Grantham is sporting in the photo of her death. So what the bloody hell is it? Sounds like black magic to me, but more on that later.
Jac and Casey help Ellia lay down in hopes of calming her down a bit before taking space up at the camera. Casey's frantic as she's come to the realization that Grantham isn't just a haunted house, whatever's happening is causing suffering, on purpose. Casey takes a quick trip down memory lane rambling about the old witchcraft her and Jac used to play when they were younger. Casey gets to the point and pulls up Hecate's wheel, the exact symbol now displayed on Ellia's body and the same symbol Emily was wearing when she died.
Hecate's wheel we learn is the symbol representing Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft. If we recall Emily was taking herbs and local medicine from a witch doctor to help her get pregnant. Casey comes to the conclusion that perhaps when Emily discovered the affair between Elizabeth and her husband that she started to dabble in a bit more than your average hocus pocus, leading her to believe that Ellia and everyone in her family have been cursed. Jac of course doesn't believe her but Casey points out she didn't believe in ghosts until a week ago and yet here they are. While the BFF's have their little discussion Ellia's withing away on the couch in pain. Casey needs to research more and asks Jac to look after Ellia. You can tell Jac isn't too thrilled but she knows it's probably the right thing to do, probably.
