Back at Laird's (Mark Nocent) apartment we can instantly see how much lighter Elise (Sharon Belle) seems. He always felt like home to her and I think that it's blatantly apparent. The two elementary school friends continue to catch up. We find out that Laird really loves what he's doing for the group at the shop and while much else of his life has changed he still is a Jesus freak (so says Elise, ha!). After their conversation two larger revelations are made:
- Laird knew about Iris' death
- Laird is engaged
Elise reacts well, the way I expected her to react given her recent regression and she dramatically stands and heads out on the apartment's balcony. The reality of returning home seems to come crashing down on Elise, finding out her mother's gone, that she doesn't really have a home or a stable job and then to find out that her anchor in Laird potentially is gone now that he's engaged. Elise admits that she still needs Laird in her life and based on the conflicted look on Laird's face, I'm thinking he maybe had more than just friends feelings for his BFF, if ya catch my drift.
The next morning Elise stumbles out of bed with a note from Laird telling her to make herself at home. We quickly cut to the front room and find someone who is not Laird and not Elise walking into the apartment. Ladies and gents lets welcome Winny Clarke to the Swerve club! While we knew that the web series alum would be joining the series, we weren't sure as to what capacity and oh my money is on her playing Laird's fiancé.
The sound of a shower is heard in the distance and with a mischievous look on her face Clarke's character begins to undress. Oh, is she in for a surprise. We cut to the bathroom and as Clarke's character pulls back the shower curtain and a naked Elise quickly covers herself up. One look and both girls yell out each other's names.
So everyone, meet Cassidy - Laird's fiancé and someone Elise knows from her past. Oh things are more definitely about to get good. Stay tuned for new episodes every Tuesday and Thursday.
