What? Queer Kid Stuff

Who? Created by and starring Lindsay Amer.

Why Should I Watch? Whitney Houston wasn't wrong when she sang that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way. With that in mind, I want to introduce you to this week's feature, Queer Kid Stuff. Created and starring Amer, this series is an LGBTQ+ educational web series for children ages 3+. Hosted by Amer and her non-binary best-stuffed friend, Teddy, this series is the Mr. Rogers of learning the ABC's of LGBTQ+.

Having recently announced its third season, the series takes sensitive topics such as pronouns, intersectionality, gender expression, what it means to be gay and more. Queer topics aren't just Amer's forte though, scroll through the official YouTube channel and you'll find episodes on race, disability, privilege and more. I don't necessarily think I have to explain why this kind of content is important, especially in times like these. If you're a parent or know someone who is, maybe introduce them to the series and they might even learn a thing or two on how to talk to teach their kids. And if you're feeling extra generous, please check out the Queer Kid Stuff Patreon page to see how you can help!

Just for kicks and giggles, check out one of my favorite videos from the series...It's OKAY to be GAY!

Where Can I Watch? Two seasons and other fun bits are available via the series YouTube Channel or you can start watching below!
